Rooted in Thai hospitality, 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts is an independent, locally owned brand shaped by the passion of its founding family. The story began in Chiang Mai, where the Wongphanlert family discovered the historic teak house with 137 pillars—once home to the Borneo Trading Company, a key player in Thailand’s 19th‑century teak industry. Recognising its cultural significance, the family restored the house and created a 30‑suite boutique hotel that celebrates Colonial Lanna architecture and curated storytelling.
This distinctive identity inspired the expansion to Bangkok, reimagining the spirit of the original owners’ home in an urban setting. The result is a refined city sanctuary that marries heritage with contemporary design, offering an experience that is both sophisticated and deeply connected to place.
