Wat Chedi Luang
Historic 14th Century Temple in the City Centre of Chiang Mai

Built by King Saen Muang Ma, the temple’s purpose was to hold the ashes of his father. Completion of the temple did not occur until the mid-15th century and at that time was the largest building in all of northern Thailand. Today, you will find local monks at Wat Chedi Luang and tourists are allowed to speak to the monks about Buddhism or Thailand.
